Helle's Uplace-BMC team mate Will Clarke participated yesterday in the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon. Will won this sprint triathlon that was organized to raise awareness and money for charity (the Cancer Research UK).
Helle started very fast during the swim and came first out of the water. Helle led starting the bike with 15" lead on Lauren Goss. During the bike leg Helle increased her lead to Lauren Goss up to 3' and 3'30" on Radka Vodičková coming into T2. During the run, she kept increasing her lead going into the start of the final lap with 4' lead on Radka Vodičková, who moved up to the 2nd place. During the last lap she controlled her run in order to save some energy for next week.
Pleased
Helle considered Boulder Peak as a preparation race for Racine. “I am so pleased with today's result. Moving to Boulder took a lot out of me and my plans had to change, as I needed more time to adapt. The last 3 weeks have been very solid and I was so committed to deliver a solid result today that will now carry me with added belief and confidence going into Racine 70.3 next week-end".
"The original plan was to race really hard and ease off with 5km remaining however the race had an equalizer which meant that the men started 12'12" behind and the first athlete across the line, male or female took an additional prize time. I had a1'50" lead to Matt Chrabot going into the final lap (2 miles), I wasn't going to ease up and make sure I took the overall victory."
