First race of the season for Max Neumann and straight back to winning ways after an outstanding performance at Hell of the West.

Max Neumann started the season as impressive as he finished the previous one. Neumann used the half distance Hell of the West event in Queensland to have a proper hit out and to get his season underway. The BMC Pro athlete dominated the bike leg and claimed the top spot in a winning time of 3:20:11. Neumann put together a dominating display finishing eight minutes ahead of second place Kieran Storch (AUS). Josh Amberger (AUS) rounded out the podium in time of 3:30:56.

Pablo Dapena Gonzalez takes the top step at Challenge Poland

Pablo Dapena took a fantastic victory in his first half distance race of this season at Challenge Poland. The BMC athlete raced all day in front of the race and made the final break with an incredible run performance. Dapena broke the tape in a time of 3:44:47. On the podium, Pablo was accompanied by Sergiy Kurochkin (UKR; 3:49:22) and Kacper Stepniak (POL; 3:51:02).

Three-peat for Max Neumann as he wins the Ironman Asian Pacific Championship in Cairns for a 3rd consecutive time

Magnificent Max Neumann takes the Asian Pacific Ironman Title for a third time in a row. The BMC Pro Triathlete overhauled Ironman World Championship third Braden Currie deep into the marathon before powering to victory in a blistering winning time of 7:52:54. Currie (NZL; 7:55:10) finished second, with Sam Appleton (AUS; 8:05:34) completing the podium. With his victory Neumann also secured his Kona qualification and becomes the 4th BMC Pro athlete to qualify for the Ironman World Championship in October later this year.

Pablo Dapena Gonzalez wins Mallorca Olympic

Pablo Dapena Gonzalez started his season with a bang. The BMC Pro Triathlete won the BEST Centre Mallorca Olympic in dominating fashion. Pablo exited the water in 2nd place and took the lead after a fast transition. On the 40k bike course Gonzalez stayed in firm control of the lead and extended his advantage to 45" at the start of the run. The Spaniard was the strongest runner in the field and extended his advantage to a comfortable 2' just over half way. Pablo cruised to victory in his first race of the season. A great season opener for Dapena Gonzalez.

Chris Leiferman takes an outstanding 2nd place at IM70.3 Marbella

Chris Leiferman backed up his magnificent 4th place finish at the Ironman World Championship two weeks ago, with a second place at IM70.3 Marbella earlier today. The BMC athlete exited the water in 6th place with a deficit of 52" to the leaders. Early on the bike Leiferman moved up to second place as part of a small chase group of three athletes. The gap to the lead stayed around the 1'30 mark for most of the bike leg. In the final stages of the bike Chris broke away from the chase group to enter T2 on his own in second place. Once on the run the American started to claw back time and the gap dropped to just over a minute at the 13km mark. Leiferman kept pushing hard but unfortunately ran out of road. De Keyser held on to take the victory, with Chris finishing a very strong second only 30" later after producing the fastest run split of the day. South African Weiss completed the podium 1'15 later.

KATRINA MATTHEWS CROWNS HERSELF VICE-WORLD CHAMPION IRONMAN IN ST. GEORGE

Katrina Matthews put together an astonishing performance to take silver at the Ironman World Championship in St. George. The BMC athlete used the challenging course to ride to the front of the race early on the bike, settle for 2nd and control that podium spot all the way to the finish line. A magnificent Matthews posted a time of 8:43:49 in her World Championship debut. Daniela Ryf (SUI; 08:34:59) retook her title with defending champion Anne Haug (GER; 8:47:03) rounding out the podium.
