Romain Guillaume has won the 2014 Ironman Lanzarote. It’s his second full Ironman title since the Ironman Mount Tremblant in 2012. Teammate Corinne Abraham finished third in her return to racing after injury. This brings the Uplace-BMC Pro Triathlon Team top-three count for the year to 7 victories and 12 podium finishes. Ronnie Schildknecht had to retire from the race in the bike leg.
read more...Three Uplace-BMC athletes competed in the 2014 Ironman 70.3 Mallorca, and all three finished on the podium. Sofie Goos (4:27:58) and Liz Blatchford (4:29:32) came in second and third behind Lisa Hütthaler (4:18:50). Bart Aernouts (03:53:33) took second place in the pro men’s race. While Andi Dreitz (03:51:38) kept his post-bike lead, Bart held off title favorites Andy Raelert in third (03:53:49), Eneko Llanos, Ivan Raña and Jan Van Berkel.

read more...Will Clarke has won the 2014 Mallorca Triathlon. Will completed the Olympic Distance race in Colonia Sant Jordi in 1:40:50, beating out Sean Donnelly and Graham Leitch for the win. Will was pleased, “It feels good to take my first win of the season. It shows me I can still go fast over the short distance. More importantly, I now have that fast work-out in my legs, which will serve me well in my next races for sure."
read more...Helle Frederiksen has finished second in today’s St. Anthony's 5150 Olympic Distance triathlon. With a final time of 1:57:06, she was just 22 seconds slower than Sarah Haskins (USA; 1:56:44). Radka Vodickova (Czech Republic; 1:59:17) completed the podium. Helle has made it an outstanding 2014 already. Two weeks ago, she won the Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico. She also finished second in the Ironman 70.3 Monterrey and the Miami Lifetime Tri.

read more...Romain Guillaume has finished 9th in today’s Cannes International Triathlon, a race that was part of his training for Ironman Lanzarote. Hervé Faure (3:36:45) won the Cannes triathlon, which was marred by confusion as the leading group inadvertently cut off part of the bike course. Nicolas Fernandez (3:37:15) and Giulio Molinari (3:37:25) completed the podium. Romain clocked in at 3:44:08.
